Liverpool University Hospitals welcomes new Non-Executive Director

Understanding how anchor institutions can tackle inequalities and stay rooted in the local community is just one of the ambitions of new Non-Executive Director Ibrahim Ali Ismail who has joined Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LUHFT).

Ibrahim has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director to Liverpool University Hospital’s Board of Directors.

He will chair the Board’s Charitable Funds Committee, which is responsible for overseeing compliance with Charity Commission frameworks and ensuring that charitable donations are administered properly and invested appropriately in eligible charitable activity in accordance with donor wishes.

He was a Non-Executive Director at Bolton at Home for five years before he became Deputy Chair of the organisation in 2019. His experience also includes holding a director position at Bolton CVS as Chair of Trustees.

“I’m delighted to be joining LUHFT at such an exciting time and I hope that I can really make a difference in my role. I’m looking forward to being an active member of the Board as the Trust implements its new strategy.

“I hope that my previous experience can add to Liverpool University Hospitals Foundation Trust's strong position with regards to how health can maximise opportunities for the people of Liverpool, not just in health but in other areas such as skills, employment and proactive community engagement to tackle inequalities.”
